The Svecom-PE 740 PL Pneumatic Expanding Chuck is designed for unwinding and rewinding applications that require precise core positioning and optimal self-centering performance.
The chuck body is available in steel or aluminium, while the expanding elements can be manufactured from steel, rubber, plastic, or a combination of materials to suit specific application requirements. For flexible installation, the chuck can be supplied with a side flange for mounting on unwind and rewind stands or with a through-bore design for installation on passing bars.
Expansion is achieved through inflatable tubes positioned beneath each row of expanding elements. When compressed air is introduced, the tubes apply uniform pressure, engaging the expanders evenly and ensuring accurate self-centering of the core.
For applications requiring higher load capacity and greater torque transmission, the number of expanding elements can be increased. Alternatively, three or more 740 PL chucks can be connected in series and operated through a single inflation valve, providing enhanced performance and reliable operation.
