Pneumechanical Chucks With Leaves
Mod. 714 MZL
The Svecom-PE 714 MZL Pneumechanical Expanding Chuck is an innovative solution designed for paper and tissue reel unwinding applications using tangential belt systems. With an expansion range of up to 20 mm in diameter, it provides reliable core gripping while supporting safer and more efficient reel handling operations.
Key Benefits:
• Enhances operator safety during reel handling and changeover.
• Improves unwinding efficiency and reduces reel replacement time.
• Extends core service life by minimizing the risk of damage.
• Enables the handling and unwinding of damaged or deformed cores.
The chuck uses a mechanical locking mechanism powered by a set of internal springs. These springs apply axial force to a piston, which activates a lever system to expand the plastic leaves and securely grip the core. To release the core, compressed air is supplied through the valve at a pressure of 4–6 bar, retracting the plastic expanding elements.
A dual mechanical expansion linkage ensures accurate core alignment and stable positioning during operation.
The 714 MZL is available with either a female cone or a rotating support configuration, suitable for reel diameters ranging from 200 mm to 600 mm. For proper operation, the chuck must be used in combination with a compatible electrical trolley.
Combining mechanical gripping reliability with pneumatic release, the Svecom-PE 714 MZL offers a practical solution for improving safety, protecting cores, and optimizing paper and tissue reel handling.
