The Svecom-PE 714 MZ Pneumechanical Expanding Chuck is primarily designed for unwinding applications that require precise core centering and secure gripping. It is also suitable for winding and rewinding operations, particularly in applications involving heavy reels, high operating speeds, and demanding torque requirements.
The chuck body and expanding elements, available as lugs or leaves depending on the application, are manufactured from steel to ensure strength and durability in demanding industrial environments. For installation flexibility, the 714 MZ is available with either flange mounting or shaft extension configurations.
The expansion mechanism uses one or more air-actuated pistons to mechanically engage the expanding elements, providing a firm and reliable grip on the core. An optional springactivated system can also be incorporated to maintain core gripping in the event of air pressure loss.
For operations involving different core diameters, interchangeable adapters can be fitted to a single base chuck, offering greater versatility and simplifying equipment adaptation. When handling steel cores, rubber-covered expanding leaves are also available to enhance gripping performance.
