Mechanical Expanding Shafts With Leaves
Mod. 636 MS
The 636 MS Mechanical Expanding Shaft with Leaves is designed for winding and unwinding rolls, both with and without cores. It is also suitable for multi-slit applications, including the handling of very narrow web widths.
The shaft body is available in steel or aluminum, while the expanding leaves can be manufactured from steel, aluminum, or rubber-coated materials. The choice of material depends on the core type and the required torque. The journal ends are custom-made from various materials to meet specific application requirements.
The expansion mechanism is operated mechanically through a square socket located at the end of one journal. This mechanism provides positive expansion and retraction of the leaves, ensuring secure gripping and effective self-centering of the roll. Its robust mechanical design also enables the shaft to handle higher torque requirements, making it suitable for demanding winding and unwinding operations.
