The 640 PLA Pneumatic Expanding Shaft with Ledges and Lateral Movement is designed for winding and unwinding rolls mounted on cores, with an additional feature that allows lateral adjustment for precise material alignment.
The shaft body is available in steel or aluminum, depending on the weight of the reel and the application requirements. The expanding ledges can be made of metal or rubber-coated materials, selected according to the core material and required torque. The journal ends are manufactured from various steel grades and custom-made to suit specific operating needs.
The expansion mechanism is activated pneumatically through an air valve or rotary union, allowing the expanding elements to engage and securely grip the core. In addition, the shaft features a manual adjustment knob that enables lateral movement, allowing operators to align the material accurately, even during unwinding operations.
