Pneumatic Expanding Shafts With Lugs
Mod. 638 PK
The 638 PK Pneumatic Expanding Shaft with Lugs is primarily designed for winding and unwinding rolls mounted on cores. It is also suitable for applications involving reels with widths greater than 500 mm.
The shaft body is available in various steel grades or lightweight alloys, depending on the application requirements. The expanding lugs can be made of steel, plastic, or rubbercoated materials to suit the core material and required torque. The journal ends are custom-manufactured from different steel grades to meet specific operational needs.
The expansion mechanism uses a single inflatable tube that applies pressure to engage the expanding lugs when compressed air is supplied, ensuring secure core gripping. To improve durability, the shaft is equipped with a specially designed tube protector that significantly reduces wear and minimizes the risk of rubber tube leakage.
For models with journal diameters greater than 50 mm, the SVECOM quick-change air tube system is available. This feature allows the rubber tube to be replaced without removing the shaft from the roll or machine, simplifying maintenance and reducing downtime.
