The 640 PQL Pneumatic Self-Centering Shaft with Ledges is designed to ensure smooth and precise unwinding and winding of core-based materials at high linear speeds.
Dynamically balanced according to the required operating speed, the shaft enhances machine performance and increases overall productivity. It features SVECOM’s proven self-centering pneumatic system, which combines metal centering ledges with rubber gripping ledges to provide reliable positioning and secure core holding.
The shaft is suitable for various core types, multiple-roll applications, and operations requiring larger diameters. Its main body can be manufactured from a range of steel grades or lightweight alloys, while the journal ends are custom-made to meet specific application requirements.
The expansion mechanism uses inflatable tubes positioned beneath each row of expanding elements, ensuring effective and uniform gripping. Tube replacement is quick and easy, without the need to remove the shaft journals, minimizing maintenance time and reducing machine downtime.
